The Crew Chief (“CC”) is crucial to the serviceability, reliability and availability of the aircraft. The CC receives strategy, guidance, support and solutions from Maintenance and works directly with the MCC, Procurement, Technical Services and Planning Teams to ensure the smooth operation of the aircraft the CC is responsible for. The CC plays a critical role in minimizing aircraft downtimes, the quick rectification of unscheduled maintenance and ensured the flight crew and owner of the aircraft are satisfied with the service levels rendered.

Responsibilities:
The Crew Chief shall have the following responsibilities:
- To ensure high standards of aircraft availability and reliability.
- Works closely the assigned flight crew to ensure issues are dealt with and communicated in a timely manner.
- Liaise with the Base and Line Maintenance Planners to ensure effective long- and short-range forecasting for the planning of scheduled base- and line-maintenance, and discretionary maintenance events.
- Provide critical feedback to the Base and Line Maintenance Planners to optimize the scheduling of aircraft downtimes to ensure maximum aircraft availability while ensuring all required maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
- Work closely MCC Controllers, Planners and maintenance service providers to achieve shortest and efficient aircraft downtimes.
- Perform and/or oversee the performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure the timely and safe return to service of the aircraft.
- Participates in periodic reviews of all scheduled maintenance events with Planning Team to ensure that planning reflects the approved maintenance program requirements and demands of the operation, and that short-notice changes are optimally integrated into the schedule.
- Work closely with MCC Controllers to quickly resolve unscheduled maintenance events,
- liaise with MCC Controllers and Line Maintenance Planners to schedule line maintenance events including the rectification of MEL items.
- Ensures the maintenance tracking software of their aircraft is up-to-date and accurate through periodic sampling of maintenance data entries, providing feedback of findings to the Director of Managed Aircraft.
- Reviews work packages to ensure completeness and efficient use of aircraft downtime.
- Works with Planners to ensure timely compliance of fleet campaigns, Airworthiness Directive and mandatory Service bulletin compliance.
- Reviews Long-Range Planners’ analysis of supplier proposals to RFQs and provides recommendations to Director of Managed Aircraft.
- Works closely with Technical Services Team to provide critical feedback on the effectivity of the approved maintenance programs and reliability efforts.
- Collaborate with Director of Managed Aircraft to develop more efficient/effective processes.
- Coach and mentor less-experienced Crew Chiefs and supporting team members.

- Demonstrated skills in performing effective troubleshooting techniques and efficient maintenance processes.
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance and aircraft maintenance planning
- Capable of successfully delivering results and managing deadlines in a demanding environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holder of an FAA A&P certificate with minimum 5 years’ experience
- Minimum 3 years of leading maintenance teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Holder of an FAA A&P certificate with AI approval, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
- Has successfully complete aircraft type training for assigned aircraft type.
- 5+ years of leading maintenance teams.
