Job Summary:
As an Aviation Safety Analyst at Vista America, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and
enhancing the company’s rigorous safety standards. You will work closely with the Safety Risk
Manager and the Director of Safety to support all aspects of our Safety Management System
(SMS), voluntary safety programs, and contribute to Vista America’s culture of safety. Your role
involves analyzing safety reports, assisting with various safety programs, and supporting the
overall safety operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Report Analysis:
Analyze and evaluate SMS (Safety Management Systems) and ASAP (Aviation Safety
Action Program) reports for all company working groups to identify potential safety risks
and opportunities for improvement.
Meeting Support:
Assist the Safety Risk Manager in coordinating and preparing for weekly and quarterly
Safety meetings, including pre-meeting preparation, agenda updates, and post-meeting
follow-ups.
SMS Report Processing:
Assist in the processing, tracking, and closing out of SMS reports, ensuring timely
resolution and follow-up actions and feedback.
FDM Support:
Learn and assist with the Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) system across all applicable
aircraft fleets, supporting data collection, analysis, and trend identification.
Incident Investigation Support:
Aid in data collection and report preparation for incident investigations, ensuring accurate
and comprehensive documentation for safety audits and reviews.
Presentation Materials:
Prepare clear, accurate, and visually engaging presentation materials for the Safety
Department to communicate safety performance, trends, and initiatives.
Data Organization and Analysis:
Organize, analyze, and report on SMS data to identify emerging trends, risks, and
opportunities for process improvement.
Safety Culture Promotion:
Actively contribute to promoting a safety-oriented culture across the company,
encouraging safe work practices, and maintaining a commitment to continuous safety
improvements such as training materials, lessons learned, safety bulletins etc.
Additional Duties:
Perform other safety-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Safety
Department.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
-Minimum 1-2 years of experience in aviation safety, safety analysis, aviation
operations or a related role (preferred).
-Familiarity with safety management systems SMS, ASAP, FDM
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety data, reports, and trends.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and
deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear
reports and presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with multiple
departments to promote safety initiatives.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, dynamic aviation safety environment.
- Office setting with occasional visits to operational sites for audits, drills, and other safetyrelated activities.
- Some travel may be required for industry audits, safety programs, and incident
investigations.
