Flight Operations Manager (FOM) Textron:

In this position, you are responsible for our Textron aircraft - oversee the management and support of the fleet. Maintain safety, efficiency and service standards. Position is based at our US headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Control
- Operational Control authority as delegated by Director of Operations, including initiating & terminating flights.
Crew Management Responsibilities
- Manage the Yearly Appraisals & reviews
- Review Duty assignments of all Flight crew
- Ensure Pilot coverage and Fleet balance
- Complete Event debriefs and provide recommendations
- Identify Upgrade candidates and facilitate the command process
- Oversee leave requests
- Hold Bi – Monthly Fleet Meetings
- Acts as the FOMoD in accordance with the FOMoD roster.
- Generate Personal Improvement Plans
- Interview pilot candidates and make hiring recommendations.
- Support MCF Risk Analysis
Fleet Efficiency Management
- Ensure flight planning understanding & compliance
Culture Management
- Environmental Surveys at network airports
- Supervise and mentor flight crew personnel on their duties.
- Acknowledge excellence in Service
Quality Standards Management
- Confirm compliance on eCRew, ETL, EFF & flight packages
- Monitor Sensitive Flights for assigned Fleet
- Ensures all internal departmental audits are carried out on schedule and any noncompliance is addressed.
- Maintain a full understanding of Jet Select’s GOM, OpSpecs, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Ensure all logistical procedures including handover checklists, documentation distribution and aircraft equipment distribution are implemented and monitored effectively.
Training Support
- Support the Simulator Program, ensures all simulator profiles are completed in accordance with the training objectives.
- Program in a timely manner, as defined by the Director of Training.
- Review LIFUS progress
- Advise Deputy Director of Training regarding training of flight crew personnel.
Policy/ Standardization Management
- Recommend standardization policies, levels of proficiency for flight crewmembers, new or improved flight operations policies and practices in part through liaison with other FOMs to align procedures across all fleets.
- Direct the implementation of existing, new, or revised flight operations policies and Procedures
Safety Management
- Ensure that all flight operations are conducted safely, in compliance with applicable regulations and in accordance with company policies and procedures through close work.
- Support correct safety reporting practices
- Review monthly Safety SPIs for fleet performance
- Collaborate with Safety department on initiatives
- Advise CP/Asst CP & DO on Safety issues as they are identified
- Create recommendations for review by Safety and Fleet Management
Requirements/Qualifications:
- ATP rated
- Experience as a Captain and Line training Captain (LTC), Check Airman (CA) required
- Experience as Sim Instructor preferred
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Training background preferred
- Current First Class Medical Certificate
- No accidents, incidents or FAA enforcement actions in last 5 years
- Authorization to travel to/from all cities/countries served by our Vista Family of Companies
- Authorization to work in the United States
