Job Profile

The Bombardier/Textron Fleet Manager will provide technical engineering support for Vista Americas fleet of Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Textron aircraft with a focus on increasing fleet availability and overall aircraft reliability. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for building in depth knowledge across all aircraft systems (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Avionic & Electronic, Mechanical, etc.)  and related maintenance practices to facilitate the development and implementation of fleet improvement initiatives.

 

The Fleet Manager develops and uses various forms of aircraft data, analysis, and performance data to improve reliability, quality, and service life of aircraft systems. The Fleet Manager is responsible for enabling establishing improvement goals, deliver on initiatives, influencing stakeholders to make targets and delivering industry leading fleet reliability and performance.

Your Responsibilities

The Fleet Manager will serve on the Technical Services Team as a multi-aircraft system expert. The Fleet Manager shall have the following responsibilities: 

  • Establish the position as a technical engineering resource within the Liaison Engineering Team and Technical Services.
  • Coordinate and engage in developing corrective actions, advising flight crews, Flight Operations and Maintenance, providing aircraft system troubleshooting guidance, and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Develop and implement troubleshooting best practices for various aircraft systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance Control, Base and Line Maintenance to resolve reoccurring discrepancies and generate preventative maintenance actions to reduce or eliminate their impact on aircraft availability.
  • Support the effort to develop, maintain, and monitor fleet and aircraft level Direct Maintenance Cost with the focus of initiating DMC reduction initiatives, provide input to modify existing aircraft maintenance plans to account for aging aircraft, and optimize aircraft maintenance plans based upon aircraft utilization.
  • Seek new and newly developing maintenance, fleet management techniques and processes to improve performance, availability, and to reduce operating costs.
  • Support the development and maintain a database to track aircraft troubleshooting events and findings for future reference and to recommend adopting procedural improvements.
  • Monitor fleet performance, flight crew feedback, reliability analysis and maintenance program changes for improvement opportunities and to initiate corrective actions.
  • Support the review and assessment of Airworthiness Directives affecting aircraft within the fleet, providing guidance in terms of applicability, affected aircraft and potential benefit of implementing optional bulletins. for best practices to ensure timely compliance.
  • Review and assess manufacturer, vendor and supplier Service Bulletins, Engineering Orders, Service Letters, Service Difficulty Reports, and other such documentation, applicable to specific aircraft, systems and/or components, to determine whether the recommended procedures, parts replacement, modifications, etc. should be incorporated and to determine the impact, cost, and downtime.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders in researching documents, parts, tooling, and methods to repair the aircraft.

 

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Possess the ability to create and use logical, systematic processes to achieve goals.
  • An understanding of FAA FAR Part 25 Aircraft Certification and AC 43.13-1B & 2B as applicable to modifications and upgrades of aircraft systems.

  • Demonstrates experience and skill in using aircraft maintenance and engineering tracking systems.
  • Capable of efficiently using the Microsoft Office 365 suite of software tools, customized electronic aircraft maintenance tracking software (CAMP), and other software solutions for communication, analysis and to support historical records.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands of this position are typical of an office environment.
  • Occasionally, travel to meet with internal teams, manufactures and suppliers.
  • Occasionally, visit to the aircraft where additional demands such as climbing ladders, kneeling, or walking long distances may be required.

 

Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment is in the office area. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and can be loud.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace engineering or similar.
  • 7+ years of experience working in commercial or military aerospace industry.
  • 3+ years of leading technical teams.
